Egyptian Mythology |
Thoth is the god of wisdom and knowledge. Thoth is also known as the "Eye of Horus" due to the belief that Thoth healed Horus' left eye after Horus was in a fight with Set. Thoth is thought to have created himself through the power of language. Some ancient Egyptians believed, in fact, that Thoth was so powerful that he was the actual creator god.Thoth generally holds an ankh and a scepter, to represent life and power. Thoth's major power was the power of writing and language. He wrote a few books that, if you read it, would make you the greatest sorcerer ever but would curse you with your knowledge. Thoth is son of Ra and brother to Hathor, Shu, and Tefnut.
